About us

The Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF) is the apex body established by the Government of India to seed, grow and promote research and development, and to foster a culture of research and innovation across India’s universities, colleges, research institutions and laboratories.

ANRF funds research across the natural sciences, engineering, mathematics, environmental and earth sciences, health, agriculture, and the humanities and social sciences.

This portal allows individuals and organisations to contribute towards ANRF’s research programmes. It exists because supporters repeatedly asked for a direct way to give.

A contribution here can either support a programme you choose, or be directed to ANRF’s general pool, where it will be allocated at its discretion to any programme. ANRF programmes open for support range from early-career grants to national missions.

Contributions are received into ANRF’s designated bank account and applied towards the programme selected by the donor, or, where the donor selects “any programme”, to any of ANRF’s programmes at its discretion.

The allocation and administration of funds remains a matter for ANRF and is subject to its governing rules and applicable law.

Contributions to ANRF may qualify for deduction under section 80G of the Income Tax Act, 1961. A receipt can be downloaded from this portal once a payment is confirmed.

ANRF’s 80G registration number is AAAJA3191J. Donors should retain the receipt for their records and consult their own tax adviser.
